My father’s biggest mistake (a true story)
I knew, I knew that the day my father sent me to Taekwando class, he would regret it. Now, you’re probably wondering why. Of course that’s not your fault. Now usually I would say a magician never tells her secret, but i will make an exception for you. Our story begins in a small house in Mumbai, India where I am lying down and staring up at the ceiling thinking “How could it be so hot on a winter afternoon? (i know India is a tropical country, but still!)”.
Suddenly my father barged into the room and this was our conversation: “Meera!” he said. “I have some important news for you!” “So?” , I replied. (He did this a lot of times, while saying let me tell you something in your ear and it turned out to be an excuse for him to shout in it. I continued, while paying him no attention. “Hey is this AC working?". He frowned at me, "Thanks to you," he murmured,"I forgot what I had to say"..."AH! Now i got it! You are going to go to Taekwando classes!". My mind started to race, literally. I mean there were cars racing in my brain (Just if you wanted to know why they were racing, well one was racing to tell him to stop and think and call someone to fix the AC and the other was racing to tell him to sit down and tell me all about Taekwando). Of course, If i would have told him to go and get the AC fixed he would have said "No! first you listen!!". Sigh, but I have to do whatever the winning car wants me to do in every case. Eventually the 1st car won and this is what I told my dad : "Ok Yeah yeah you can tell me later and please fix this AC!!". His response (as expected) was "Nooo first you listen, it is going to be very fun"
So that was how he pulled me into attending Taekwando Classes. But but but but... there are consequences! DUN DUN DUN. Every time he shouts in my ear or teases me he gets a light kick on his back!. For some reason he says it hurts him, even though I tell him its not my fault. It's the case of the cars in my mind! I tell him that they race to guide me on what I should say or do but he doesn't believe me!!. I mean, can you believe it?! Ugh mean! I am OFFENDED. And THAT is his biggest mistake!
